Conversely I have a recipe set up so that if I create a task in Todoist and tag it with then it creates a card in Trello in a special board I call "Inbox", and from there I can move the card to wherever I want it.Todoist is a task management software for individuals looking for a way to increase productivity and stay organized. Just create the task in Trello, then wait for the recipe to run, then go over to Todoist and add contexts, etc. For example I have set up a recipe so that whenever I create a new card in Trello in my grading board, it creates a new task in my Todoist inbox, so I don't have to create it twice. Very helpful in this task are the IFTTT channels for Trello and Todoist. I'd post a screenshot of this, but we just ended our semester and my grade projects are all empty! :) As I work through my grading, tasks move from list to list and eventually when they make it to "Done", I go over to Todoist and cross it off. Each card in that board is a todo item from Todoist, corresponding to a single grading task. I have maybe 6-8 special projects at any given time whose tasks "live" in Todoist but I have recreated them in Trello to play with them and visualize where each individual task is at any point in time.įor example I have a board for weekly grading tasks with lists Todo, Up Next, Currently, and Done. Instead, Trello for me has become a tool for visualizing certain projects that benefit from the two-dimensional layout with cards going north-south and lists going east-west. So like you, for me Trello would not be a good to-do list platform because the sheer amount and diversity of stuff I have going on is too complex for Trello to handle well. I'm a university professor with dozens of projects going on at any given time.
